EVENTURI Carbon Air Intake System For BMW M5 E60 E61.

Our updated M5 E60 E61 intake system retains the performance gains of our original system and benefits from the experience we have gained over the years to accomplish a more integrated design. By integrating the MAF tube into the carbon housing and replacing the OEM flexible hoses with our custom made shorter versions, the system now has a seamless aesthetic. This intake is designed to make a positive impact to the whole driving experience. By taking advantage of aerodynamic principles and using computational fluid dynamics to optimise the airflow, we have engineered an intake system which delivers on all fronts – sharpened throttle response, more torque and power, improving drive-ability and of course, an intoxicating V10 induction sound.

The Eventuri Difference

The S85 Eventuri system uses our Patent Pending Carbon fiber Housing which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the MAF tube. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design which invokes the Venturi affect.

PATENTED FILTER HOUSINGS

The M5 E60 E61 V2 Filter Housings utilise our patented Venturi technology and at the same time incorporates the MAF tube section for a seamless flow path. The carbon housing shrouds the reverse mounted filters and smoothly shapes the airflow towards the MAF tubes where volume is gradually reduced. This smooth reduction in cross sectional area invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack - below is a diagram to show the comparison between our patented design and a regular intake system. BESPOKE CONE FILTER

The filter we chose for the M5 E60 E61 system allows for a balance between filtration area and overall filter housing volume. By using a shorter cone we were able to optimise the shape of the housing for better flow towards the MAF tubes while maintaining more than sufficient filtration area for the CFM demands. The filter medium is ISO tested to ensure that filtration is in line with OEM standards and is also dry. The filter is constructed with our signature flow cones to aid in the Venturi housing principle.

EPDM COUPLERS

By taking the housings further in length towards the plenum, we had to replace the OEM flexible hose with our own version to maintain flexibility. Our EPDM couplers are internally stepped like the OEM versions to create a smooth path between the housings and the plenum.

AIR SCOOPS

Laser cut from aluminium and then powder coated, there are 2 scoops which located behind the front nose grills and another 2 which locate in the lower brake ducts. The front scoops are curved to smoothly direct ambient air into the stock ducting which then displace heated air from the intake area. The 2 lower scoops direct ambient air directly into the mouths of the intakes.

HEAT SHIELDS

There are 2 aluminium heat shields with neoprene lining. They locate on the engine side of each intake and effectively deflect hot air from the radiator - especially when the fan comes into operation.
